Recently after launching the S1 and S1 Pro Electric scooters, Ola Electric is all set to launch their own Electric cars by 2023. The CEO of the company Bhavish Aggarwal has informed using his Twitter handle.

Inspired by Nissan Leaf EV  


The Ola Electric hatchback is going to be an affordable and practical Electric Vehicle. The EV is expected to have five doors and many glass panes as we can see in the design of the car. The design of the Nissan Leaf EV as you know is very much similar to the Ola EV, Nissan comes with a variant of either 24 KWh or 30 KWh which lasts up to around 100,000-150,000 miles at a single charge. But Ola is trying to increase the backup of their EV. 


Nissan's EV offers a service of around 10-15 years because of the degrading of the lithium-ion battery as time passes. These batteries can be charged at the Ola charging stations which are capable of providing around 50GWh of electricity.



A Compact yet Spacious Design


The design of the EV is made in such a manner that the compactness remains there but the inner space of the vehicle should not be compromised. The designers of Ola Electric are working on the design so that it can compete with the EV giant Tesla. There is a 360° glass panel that will provide a spacious view, also there is a tab like a central touchscreen infotainment system.


The design of the EV will be aerodynamic with a glass windshield on the front which goes up to the back of the vehicle, but the design requires many changes because of the legal issues that can happen in the coming future about the identical design of EVs present in the market.



Seems to be Influenced by Tesla's Design


Tesla is reportedly working on a small EV whose design is being started coming on the internet, and the Ola Electric car looks similar to Tesla's small hatchback. But the Ola designers are working on it to make it better than the former.


Ola recently reached the production rate of 1000 electric scooters per day in their future factory, but the upcoming Ola electric EV is going to be manufactured in Ola's new future factory which will have a production rate of up to 2 million units per year. Recently has received $200 million dollars of funding from the US which can make things possible, and because of this investment, the company's valuation becomes $5 Billion.



Other Special Features


As we can see in the design there is no door handle in the EV but at the time of production, the EV is expected to have a more sophisticated design, with LED taillights and a clean sheet design. The expected cost of the upcoming EV is around 8.00 Lakhs.


The upcoming EV is expected to have sporty seats and will have a very compact design for the EV to be efficient. The company's CEO has said that "the next car replacement will be the Ola Electric car".
